Louise Holland & Paul Swift:

‘Listen to Louise Holland from Sherwood Playgroup talk about the history of one of Nottingham’s longest running Playgroups who celebrate their 60^th Anniversary in 2021 and how they are still running successfully today. 

 

Paul Swift, local historian, attended the Playgroup in the 1960’s and recalls his time there as a young child, including the grief he experienced from the loss of his father. Together they discuss how the approach of playgroup staff has changed over the years, to the inclusive approach found today. Paul’s memories are personal and touching, noting how attitudes towards children have changed. Paul talks about sledging and go karting on Woodthorpe park, noting differences between how he was able to play and the experience some children have today.'
