Next Steps project comes to Bulwell Following an award of £341,558 over three years from the Big Lottery Reaching Communities Fund, The Toy Library is proud to announce its innovative Next Steps project, which will give young people in Bulwell, Nottingham aged 9 - 13 years the opportunity to work alongside staff in developing and delivering a range of opportunities and activities of their choice in places that suit them. Safe spaces will be created in the community where young people can come together and get involved in stimulating activities, discuss their concerns, their ambitions and develop skills for living. At least 500 young people are expected to be reached through this project. Lead staff and sessional worker recruitment has taken place - plans are being finalised for the Summer - we're almost ready to go! Steve Parkinson, Service Director at The Toy Library, commented that "between the ages of 9 and 13 years young people go through many changes and challenges - we aim to offer as much support as we can, on their terms".
