Worried about a child who isn’t talking?
Language Through Toys and Play
There’s nothing more exciting than hearing a child speak for the first time, then as the days rolls by, they learn more and more new words, until finally they’re chattering away non-stop!
But if a child seems behind when it comes to talking, it’s only natural to worry.
If you’re a parent, carer or professional with concerns about a child who isn’t talking, our free Language Through Toys and Play service could be the answer.
The service is supported by the NHS and it’s been running for over 10 years, very successfully. It uses play to encourage children to talk and communicate, especially those with mild speech and language difficulties.
Via the service, our specially trained staff can help parents and carers play with their child, in the comfort of their own home, using simple games and play techniques designed to encourage children to talk, think, communicate and use their imagination.
In addition, we can also lend children specially selected toys as part of the service.
Why wait?
You don’t have to wait until a child is older to benefit from our Language Through Toys and Play service.
Playing with a baby from an early age can help develop its speech and language skills.
Via Language Through Toys and Play we can show parents and carers how to fit play into their daily routine and help them to choose the best toys and games for their child, now and in the future. Plus, we can lend families plenty of toys and games, hand-picked for their baby.
